Panama sucks

Save your money dreams playa bonita is not worth it. The food was terrible, the staff was not very helpful, taxis way overpriced, and not many options to do anything off the resort. Very disappointed

First Time Resort Experience

This was my first time staying at a resort while traveling. The property has exterior entrance doors to the rooms, which was surprising to me. The room was okay, but seemed a bit dated. It was very spacious and we didn't feel crowded in the room. I was disappointed that I paid for an upgrade to the view and didn't end up with one. I asked for an ocean view. The room we were in had a huge tree covering most of the balcony. There was a sliver of a view of the ocean. We went with other people and their rooms had significantly better views than ours and they didn't pay extra! The restaurant choices were just okay. We went with buffets more often than not because that menu changed more often than the standard plated menus at the other restaurants. The breakfast was by far the best with the selection of items available. The bars were well stocked and had knowledgeable bartenders to make drinks. We thought there would be more resort activities available (kayaking, paddle boards, etc.) but they weren't available daily. We arrived on a Saturday and those days were the busiest. The weekdays were very quiet overall. We had great service from the front desk and concierge. The bartenders were amazing. Housekeeping was stingy with towels. They left exactly two sets and some days forgot to replace everything. The first night, we didn't have a bath mat. One day after getting service, we didn't have any wash cloths. Minor hiccups, but hiccups nonetheless.Overall, a decent experience.

Subpar at best

Compared to other resorts for the price this resort left a lot to be desired. Onsite excursions such as jet skiing, snorkeling, etc do not exist. No onsite entertainment squad that conducts activities throughout the day. Restaurants had nightly repeat menus. The no see um bugs are horrible and you will leave bitten from head to toe. Service was ok, but everything else left much to be desired. The resort was completely dead after 7pm, and the onsite "club" was simply a joke.

Would not recomend

Besides the view and Food, we would not recomend this Resort.. The Grounds and Rooms need an Update. The tours are scheduled around sales pitch of their property's and are spent mostly in Traffic. Consider Rosetta stone if you dont speak Spanish, very few workers speak english. Unless you go to the bar, its unlikely you will get a drink at the pool, not the service you expect at a resort. If its the beach your looking for, than please look elsewhere. Very rocky and the lounge chairs look as if they were washed up from a 1980's cruise ship, old and dinghy. And lets not forget about the Raccoons running around the property at night. Live and Learn. Never again
