Great Vacation

February 3-7,2020 Had a great time. First time at RIU Jalisco. Stayed at RIU Vallarta in 2012. If you don’t want to walk stairs Jalisco resort is great because elevator goes all the way down to ground floor where restaurant and beach, pools are. The buffet is a different theme nightly that I didn’t even go to the other restaurants The bed was soft. Had an added pillow top on the mattress. The AC worked so well that I had to get more blankets. Key to this is you must keep your patio door closed at all times. Tuesday afternoon is the foam pool party. Absolutely so much fun for all ages. 5-80 years old were in the pool. Only time I saw kids in the pool They have a family pool otherwise. And a great small children’s pool Looking forward to coming back. Missing the White Party which is on Friday. Oh and the evening stage shows are very professional. They take it very serious. And dancing after that for the guests. So much fun. And everything very clean. Employees always cleaning.

Excellent trip

We were at Jalisco 2/21thru 2/27 and had an awesome time. The service was phenomenal. Best bartenders in Mexico. Ramon was our favorite, never had an empty drink when he was around. Enjoyed the beautiful Sandy beach and clean pools. Water was nice and warm as well. Entertainment every night, they tried hard to have people enjoy their stay. There are some reviews about noise, we did not experience that. Had an outside facing room looking at mountains and it was very quiet. Lots of options for food, went to buffet mostly but did try the steak place and Asian which was awesome. My husband myself and our friends will definately be back. Down the beach to the right less then 20 dollars for an hour massqge!! Took a cab to and from airport an to Bucieras twice. There was a festival in town which was really neat. Don't listen to any bad reviews, this place is awesome!! White party on Friday night was amazing!! Can't wait to go back!!

Great value to the price

The resort was very full on our visit and at times it was hard to get that perfect place to spend time on the beach or by the pool. The food was almost always great. We ate at all locations which had a good variety to choose from.Only in the restaurants were drinks delivered. At the pool and beach we had to wait in a bar line to get drinks. All drinks were mixed properly.

Riu Jalisco - January 15-19, 2020

Food was good. We went in knowing the majority of the restaurants were buffets and we were okay with that, but the steakhouse ended up being a sit down dinner with waiter service (the only one on the resort). I recommend getting there around 640-645 for the 7:00 sitting because it does fill up quickly, but it’s worth the wait. The bars were nice and clean and the drinks weren’t watered down, as far as I could tell. The resort gets fairly noisy at night time, depending on where your room is, because in the center near the pools is where they hold all their entertainment. Our room was far enough away that it wasn’t too bad, but as you got closer and closer towards it, I’d imagine it would be tough to try and get to sleep early and sleep soundly through the night. Friday night they have a glow party and that goes until like 230 in the morning with pumping techno and dance music with bass that reverberates through the entire hotel. We still had a great time and will more than likely go back and try it with a group of our friends. Riu resorts never seem to disappoint.

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

The Spanish-style resort with Moorish flourishes, surrounded by palm groves and the Pacific.

The liquor dispensers in the rooms. It's a party. Just add people.

RiuLand - supervised fun for the little ones while you savor that beachtastic drink by the teal waves.

The majestic Sierra Madres that hug Banderas Bay, which frame the soul-stirring sunsets.

Stress-smashing massages in open-air palapas, facials and Henna tattoos you can get at the spa.

The championship golf course that's near and waiting for your A game.

The nearby Marieta Islands with the hidden beach, a natural wonder that'll blow your hair back.

What We'd Change

Since it's located in Nuevo Vallarta, it's a bit of a drive to the shopping and sights in downtown Puerto Vallarta. But most families never want to leave the all-inclusive perks at Riu Jalisco.

Why You Should Go

The airport is 10 miles from the airport. Your vacay is so near you'll be able to taste it.

Frolicking at the dolphinarium in Banderas Bay is a great option for a non-beach day.

The Malecon, a promenade with beautiful sculpture, is near and ready for your oohing/awing.

There's wave after wave of water sports: body boarding, kayaking, catamarans, and more.

The boat trip to Yelapa, an epic, beachy paradise you can access by boat, is a must-do.

For a fee, you can hop on horses and/or bikes to explore the exotic, tropical terrain.

The traditional village of Bucerias is near and filled with craft markets for your sourveniring.
