Relaxing vacation but not much more..

Just recently spent 6 days at this resort.. The value of the trip overall was a plus.. The food and drinks were good.. The room and resort were clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful.. The beach was not impressive, similar to what I would see on the east coast in NJ, Delaware, or Maryland beaches. The pool was large and not over crowded. Service was ok.. Had to go to the bar on multiple occasions to get drinks. The wait staff were polite, but again, on multiple occasions, I had to wait for service, coffee, or water. Suggestion: Put breakfast items on room service menu!! You could not have breakfast in bed.. Not even a fruit bowl or cereal.. The entertainment was above average. May need to add more options.. Piano Bar ( Sing along )? Karaoke Night? Trivia contests?? Get the people more involved.. So, I left the resort very relaxed and content, but not eager to return for any excitement..

BEST PLACE

LOVED THE PLACE, APART FROM ALL THE NOISE OF THE CITY, IT IS NOT VERY LARGE SO EVERYTHING IS AROUND WITHOUT HAVING TO WALK A LOT. ALL PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND DO ANYTHING TO PLEASE YOU. MY ROOM HAD A VIEW OF THE SPECTACULAR SEA, ALTHOUGH IT WAS FAR YOU STILL CAN LISTENED TO THE SOUND OF THE WAVES. THE BUFFET WAS A TYPICAL AMERICAN BUFFET, I WOULD HAVE LIKED THERE TO BE MORE TYPICAL FOOD. ON SUNDAY IT WAS MEXICAN NIGHT AND HAD TYPICAL GAMES AND MARIACHI VERY ENTERTAINING. THE RESTAURANT ALA CART MY FAVORITE WAS THE FRENCH, SANDRO WAS OUR WAITER, AND HE TREATED US SUPER SPECIAL. RESTAURANT THAT LESS LIKED WAS THE JAPANESE, THE VEGETABLES WERE OVER COOKED FOR MY TASTE, I LIKED THAT THERE WAS A VARIETY OF VEGETABLES, BUT THEY WERE OVER COOED. IF YOU WANT A SPECIAL MASSAGE GO TO THE BEACH TO THE LEFT THERE ARE WOMEN THAT GIVE YOU A FULL MASSAGE SUPER WELL FOR ONLY $35.00 DOLLARS. WHAT I DO NOT LIKED, THAT IN POOL WERE TO MANY CHILDREN AND WAS VERY FULL. THE PILLOWS ARE FLAT. I RECOMMEND TO GET BETTER PILLOWS WE ARE THERE FOR OVER A WEEK THE NIGHT WE SLEEPS WITH YOU, AT LEAST WE WANT TO SLEEP COMFORTABLE. OVER ALL I WAS VERY HAPPY, WE NEVER HAVE REPEATED VACATION SPOT, BUT THIS TIME I WILL LIKE TO RETURN

Terrible, wanted to leave

Our experience was so bad that we may join the group people who say they will never go back to Mexico. The bus that picked us up from the airport smelled like urine. Then we get to the resort and they offered a $900 upgrade, which we declined. They brought us to our rooms, which we adjoining, BUT not to each other. They said our children, ages 9, 12, 14 "would be just fine in their own room, it's safe here." This was unacceptable. They said there were no rooms left in the resort and we'd have to pay the $900 upgrade to get rooms that adjoined and they were the only ones left and were oceanside. After 2 hours of arguing, we did get adjoining rooms (RIGHT NEXT TO THE ONES WE INITIALLY HAD) so they were lying. We go from there to the concierge to make dinner arrangements. All restaurants are booked until 9P until THURSDAY, this was Sunday! So we have to eat at the buffet for he first 4 nights or eat with our children at 9P and miss the entertainment? It is absurd. One of the concierge was very friendly with us and begged us to go to the breakfast to hear about the Iberostar Club. We did this and honestly it wasn't as pressure filled as we thought it could be. Sadly, the worst part was that after we decided against joining the Club (which is a 25 year commitment) that same friendly concierge would not talk to us or our children. Honestly, was the worst resort experience I've had and I've been to ~20 resorts in the Caribbean.

Love this resort!

First of all, Cheap Caribbean was the best, we had to cancel a reservation for a health reason and rebook and CB made it as painless as possible. We've had to deal with them directly a few times now and they've been wonderful every time. On to the resort. We've been to many all inclusives over the past 13 years and Iberostar Playa Mita is our favorite. There really are no negatives to talk about. It's a beautiful property, very clean, fairly small and well laid out so there's not too much walking to get around. The pools look very nice, but we're beach people so don't go in them. There are always enough chairs to go around though, which is a really nice thing at an all inclusive. No getting up at 6 a.m. to stake out your spot. Same at the beach, they will get you a lounger and an umbrella if there isn't one when you get out there. The beach is really nice and you can go for long walks on it. If you walk to the south, there are some ladies that will give you a really good massage at a good price. This was our second year at this resort and the food this year was even better than last. The buffet has a large selection and most everything is very good. If you can't find something good to eat here, you are way too picky. We ate at a few a la carte restaurants. The French (Pacific Express) was very good. The Steak House was just OK. The Japanese was also very good. If you like to golf, the course is by far the most scenic I've ever played and was in good shape. A few holes are right on the ocean and there is mountain scenery on most of the holes. Really beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we were not pestered to join any kind of club or upgrade. Several bars to hang out in, and nightly shows in the theatre by some talented musicians. Everything is played live, no karaoke lip syncing by the players. The maids clean your room every day while you're out and stock the mini bar with water, soda and beer. We're already planning our vacation here next year.!
