1st Cabo Trip

Beautiful hotel & help from Cheap Caribbean. Hotel room was on noisy side first so they 'secured' a view room on 4th floor for the next morning & gave us a printout only to forget the next day giving us a room in a bottom floor corner blocked by any view, thus waiting again for a room but for a few hours. Not ready as promised "15 minutes" turned into another hour. Rooms were clean, brought towels w/o asking for them, room service (did not order anything) came twice at 1:30 AM and 1:45 AM knocking on the door until we answered sleepily. Found international buffet & steak places the best (vegets were scarce), japanese restaurant carb portions were huge, meat/vegets tiny, got a 'NO' for butter or salt for lobster. LOL. Loved the cappuccino bar and large open bar area nearby. Entertainment was good but because some was switched around we & others missed some. Line dancing and dance lessons were non-existent but on the schedule. Pools are just gorgeous, large, & not crowded, With high temps & humidity into the evening hours, swimming is the one thing to do but pools close at 0800 which is extremely early for a resort/hotel along with the outdoor bars, Jacuzzi's, ping pong, spa, etc, Boat, snorkeling, scuba excursions were awesome. Company that arranged our transportation also did to & from airport and gave us the wrong time on the return. We had checked out and were in that foyer despite not knowing yet the p/u time was an hour earlier and no one called for us so our ride left. "The company" in blue said it was not their problem and we had to quickly find & pay for taxi -very disappointed. But the taxi driver was one of the friendliest people.

En enjoyable but confusing.

First I would like to say, cheap Caribbean is fantastic we had a wonderful time. The flights were great on time. Transportation through group bus by AmStar to the hotel fantastic. We had made reservations several months in advance. Had requested highest floor possible Ocean View close to the beach, on the quiet side of the hotel. At check-in we were informed our room would not be ready until the next morning. They even told us the room number. The only thing they had was a ground floor room on the other side of the hotel. It had taken almost an hour to figure this out. We took that room and went to dinner. We decided to go to the buffet. It was a great choice, the food was excellent service incredible. About 1:30 in the morning, someone was pounding on our door. It was room service bringing water that we didn't order??? After a. Cappuccino and wonderful breakfast, we went to get our room. The current staff had no idea what we were talking about. This led to 30 minutes of explaining what happened and trying to figure out what to do next. We were told they would have a room available in about an hour. We came back 2 hours later to find they had given us a room again on the ground floor with no View. We then spent the next half hour explaining in detail again what we have requested the room number they had promised us the day before. We were once again told they would have a room for us in about an hour. By the time we came back from shopping 3 hours later our room is ready. The next night we again were awakened by room service at about 2 a.m. with water that we didn't order??? We booked our shuttle ride back through AmStar along with a sale snorkeling day, and a scuba dive day. Both were incredible. We were told our return shuttle to the airport was at 12 on Saturday. As our flight 3 p.m. . We were in the lobby at 11 I am. Saturday morning. By 12:30 I was concerned. I reached oot to the AmStar representative at the hotel. He informed me they were there to pick us up at 11:10 a.m. I reminded him that he told me they would be there at 12. He then proceeded to look at my receipt and said it says 11:10 on your receipt . My bad, even though he said they would be there at 12 the tickets at 11:10 and he said there was nothing he could do. Not his problem!!! $ 70.00 cab ride to make our flight.. The shows were very good however not good for dancing. If you are looking for a late night swim, good luck. The pool closes at 8??? Hard to understand when it's still 95 degrees and 85% humidity. All Things Considered it was still a great trip and I would do it again however I would do things a little bit differently. The people at cheap Caribbean made this trip easy to book and all inclusive is the only way to go. The staff at the Riu Palace or kind friendly and their main objective is to make your stay Unforgettable. The hotel itself is beautiful and picturesque. I am looking forward to my next trip through cheap Caribbean.

Get Away Week Trip

Let me tell you, this resort definitely takes care of all your needs!! Since I arrived the staff treated me so respectful & made me feel safe & wanted. The food quality its good, I enjoyed how much of a variety of food they have at this hotel. One thing I didn’t like was the temperature at the rooms, the A/C was extremely way too cold, & i had to turn up the heater & that wasn’t really helping at all. I would recommend this resort to all my friends!!!

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

Blue sparkling pools with dynamo ocean views. Pic opp moments, for sure.

Within walking distance to Cabo's El Medano Beach - you can swim, jet ski or bar hop along the shores.

Swoon-worthy views from your balcony - ocean or resort, either way - it's stunning.

Freshly made guacamole for your morning, afternoon, or late night snack. It's delish.

Resort is geared for families and mature adults - not your rowdy spring break revelers.

The Entertainment Team keeps things lively and when you want to let loose, Pacha disco is open at night.

Staying in your room and dining with 24-hour room service. Because you're a rock star.

What We'd Change

The beach out front isn't swimmable - the undercurrent is strong, but you can the pool is gorgeous and has the best ocean view.

Why You Should Go

Perfect location in Cabo - a short trip from the airport to the resort and close to Cabo's nightlife.

Riu's commitment to top notch service will win you over the moment your flip flops hit the resort.

Whale watching is epic here. Best time to see these awe-inspiring creatures - mid-Dec thru mid-April.

Stay sporty - tennis, volleyball, ping pong are included, and for a fee, ride horses on the beach.

See the famous El Arco (meaning "Land's End") from the resort. (Go there and take a Selfie).

RiuLand keeps the kiddos entertained. And, you? Book time in the spa. You deserve it.
