Would return under the right circumstances

The resort is clean and well kept for an older property. The staff were friendly and bartenders and restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. Did the all-inclusive, guess we were spoiled elsewhere. The food was mostly good, but with only one restaurant I wouldn't do all-inclusive again. We were never offered drink service around the pool or "beach" chairs and there were never any beverages in the fridge in our room. The pool is small and the "fountains" that turned on every day that sprayed into the pool were annoying as you couldn't get away from them. Also, the pool is too small for volleyball-it totally took over the pool. Again, the staff were very nice and we had a good enough time that we would return under the right circumstances. We did like the location and would return, but not as all-inclusive and it would have to be a really good deal.

Good Times!

The resort was fine but a bit dated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Raul was able to upgrade our stay to a 1BR suite which was fantastic. Water in front of restaurant was ideal for beginner snorkeling. View was of cruise ships but we knew that going in. We could find sunset viewing at other places.

Wouldn't go back

Right after you check in they send you over to "guest services" which is actually their push to get you to buy a timeshare. The first couple of days the service was great, but then it just went down hill, it was hard to get refills on drinks, a few times they completely forgot we ordered dessert and never came back to check on us. The bartender at the ONLY small bar would flat out ignore you. The "swim up bar" was actually a swim up hot tub, you had to leave the pool to get a drink. You were better off getting service sitting at the beach area if you got a one day pass, we would have to grab someone walking by to get drinks or anything, but they would go straight for the people who came off the cruise ships. Also the pictures don't show how close to the cruise ships you really are, when it's busy it's less than 100 yrds, you get the privilege of hearing the horns from the ships in the morning and in the evening. The weddings... We found out the afternoon of a wedding that they were having one that day, no warning or anything, and it went til 1 AM. We asked the front desk if they were having another one and no one knew, but sure enough come the following Friday, there was another wedding. And during the wedding days you couldn't eat the restaurant by the water, as hotel guests you were placed to eat in a room with a view of the roof of the kitchen. Wifi is not included and the price you at is only for one device. Towel services were not available during the hours listed so we waited for towels several times and were forced to bring cards for them upon check out even though we had left the towels neatly in the room. There were no activities on the weekends which was boring. All inclusive was not actually all inclusive, if we wanted beer in a can or bottle we had to pay and if we wanted to take more than one drink to the pool or our room to drink so as not make as many trips, we had pay for them. On the upside, the resort was clean most of the time, room cleaning was great and the food was decent, especially on Fridays. We had asked for the safe deposit box batteries to be replaced upon on arrival and it never happened. The tv remote batteries went out, so we went down to get new ones and had to wait to come to the room with them. Our promised "Ocean views" was a view of a huge tres, with a peek at the ocean if we want outside. When asked to move to a room with a view as we were on our honeymoon, they stated they were "full" and could not. The bar and restaurant were unavailable after 10:30pm to guests and when we wanted water to drink at 11pm and went to the front desk, they gave us tiny child sized bottles.
