Best Resort Ever

Of all the All-Inclusive resorts that we've been to, THIS is the one that we would love to live in. We visited during Spring Break this year (2018) and were extremely grateful that it didn't have a "Spring Break" feeling - it was calm, clean, and relaxing. Not empty, either. But *just right*. Yes, there were some college kids there enjoying the break, but they were great. No craziness at all. Here are a few highlights for us: * The staff is amazing! So respectful, grateful, helpful, awesome. Never did I feel like they were trying to push us into a timeshare. Never felt like they were asking for or expecting tips (however, please DO tip them! they work hard and are SO grateful) - they will provide you with excellent service either way, I felt. * The Kids Club was fantastic! Our 8 year old daughter had an amazing time with so many activities and she made friends. She looked forward to going to the Kids Club every day we took her. * The facility is BEAUTIFUL -- it's not just a pool and free drinks -- I seriously regretted not scheduling more than a week there. * The pools are great! -- one for Kids & Families -- one for Adults only -- one for the super special Elite guests that I suppose belong to the Residents Club -- and one really large one that is open to everyone. They also have some Jacuzzi's sprinkled around, including one with a big fire-pit in the middle * It's a non-smoking facility -- BUT -- there's are places with big fire-pits where smokers are welcome. * The FOOD is INCREDIBLE -- I'm sorry, but most all-inclusive places have awful food. This place is NOT one of them! (except for Room Service, which is totally included, but the Room Service food is "meh") -- the breakfast buffet is worth having! Just get there before noon! * Our favorite place to hang out was the bar on the beach with rope swings. It was relaxing, comfortable, and we want to go back. * Our room was a 1-Bedroom Suite in the center of the hotel, with a full ocean view. We had our daughter and asked if they could bring a rolling bed for her, but then they showed us the Murphy Bed that was in the main room. Done! * Every balcony has a hammock - and it is sturdy and ridiculously comfortable * Villa Del Palmar is located on Playa Mujeres, and there's a ferry to Isla Mujeres literally next to the property! So convenient. It was our first time going to the island, and I *highly* recommend it if you love perfect crazy blue water and flawless beaches. * The hotel is not next to any other hotels that we could see. Nobody was walking over from other places, though you DO need to wear a bracelet. That's it for now. I definitely want to come back here next year. My wife and I both agree that it's the best we've ever experienced in Cancun and now we don't want to screw it up by going anywhere else. Villa Del Palmar is now HOME.

We can't wait to return!

Our recent family vacation to Villa Del Palmar Cancun exceeded all of our expectations. It's a quick and easy 30 minute shuttle ride from the Cancun airport, and we were happy to be away from the hotel-upon-hotel zone of the usual Cancun resorts. Though the water wasn't as visually beautiful as it is in the hotel zone (and in other spots south of Cancun), the rest of the resort certainly made up for this. And, our day trip to Isla Mujeres gave us our turquoise Caribbean experience, when we visited Playa Norte. We arrived around 8:45 pm and were greeted by a friendly front desk person who was very helpful in explaining the details of the all-inclusive. Another staff member brought us a delicious smoothie to enjoy while we checked in. Prior to our trip, we had upgraded our reservation to a one-bedroom suite (highly recommend doing this) and ended up on the 8th floor with a beautiful view of the pools, ocean and Isla Mujeres. The suite was extremely clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice to have a full kitchen with a fridge (which was stocked daily with beer, pop, water and snacks) and microwave (for those tasty leftovers we enjoyed after our meals). Our kids especially enjoyed lounging in the patio hammock every morning and evening! The following morning we met with one of the concierge members, who told us about the various amenities of the resort as well as had information on bookable excursions and how to get to the island. She did ask if we'd be interested in joining them for a VIP breakfast, which entitled us to discounts at the spa and at other off-site spots. We had read in other reviews that this was a timeshare spiel and that these VIP breakfast guests would then have to partake in a 3 hour meeting and tour. We simply said "no thank you" and weren't asked about it again. Every morning, we would wake up and make our way downstairs to the breakfast buffet. It was really great. High quality, fresh food, with many options and a made-to-order omelette bar. The green juice at breakfast was a must. Our favorite server, Edgar, was super. He even arranged for a last minute breakfast toast for our 9 year old birthday boy. After breakfast, we'd head to the large family pool closest to the beach, and a smiling pool butler would help us with towels on our chosen chairs. We'd head upstairs to change and head back down for a day at the pool. The drinks were tasty and the alcohol selections were mid-range typical (Bacardi, Absolut, Bombay, etc.). The food from the Bites cafe was perfect for poolside. Nothing fancy, but the ceviche was cold and fresh and the french fries and burgers for the kids were tasty. The pool servers were friendly and returned regularly to ask if we needed anything. The restaurants on property were a lot better than we were expecting. The steakhouse and Davinos were our favorite, though the other two were great as well (have the guacamole at Zama!). We had helpful, friendly service at every restaurant. Though the tips were included, we brought additional singles and 5s along with us to tip the staff. They are on their feet and working very hard day after day. They were very gracious when receiving tips. You will need to sign for every meal and at the end of the day at the pool. There was a space to include an additional gratuity, which would be charged to the room, but we opted to tip for service directly. The signing for meals and drinks was never a hassle, but do expect it. The other guests were very friendly. Definitely not a Cancun party hotel and the evening entertainment is easy going and enjoyable. There was a good mix of families and couples and we never felt that it was too busy (even though we heard the resort was at 90% occupancy). We met a couple of other families with kids and everyone had a great time together. We used the Kid's Club a couple of times and the staff there was super friendly and it was very apparent they were experienced with kids of all ages. CheapCaribbean was great to book through. No issues whatsoever. In fact, prior to booking this trip, we booked a different vacation, but had a change of heart. We were able to cancel that trip within 24 hours, no questions asked, and we received a full refund. Leading up to this trip, CheapCaribbean sent a couple of helpful emails, which included travel reminders and tips. We will definitely be booking another vacation through them again!

Fun place

I really liked the Villa del Palmar. It was very clean and the staff was super friendly and ON IT with drinks and such. I would have liked a bigger beach area tho. I would have also liked having the buffet open a little more than just breakfast and some dinners. I felt like I was only allowed breakfast, lunch and snacking. But overall I really enjoyed it and it was beautiful and I definitely would recommend it!

Cancun with some construction

Hotel staff were great, food was good, especially the steakhouse, breakfast bar and japanese, Bar and pool service were great. Had our pool chairs ready for us with towels and drinks every day. We had lunch delivered to us poolside everyday - good food and variety. Wait staff were very friendly and helpful. For every drink, or coffee or meal we had a sign a slip which was kind of a hassle, but allowed us a throw in some extra tips. Wish there would have been a few more organized activities, especially after dinner. Wish the lobby staff would have done a better job of outlining the activities and hours and things to do instead of pushing a timeshare. We took a great boat trip to Isla Majeures, visible from the resort and the marina is very close. There was a large construction project next door and they worked 6 days a week. Several days they started hammering at early in the day.

Hotel Description

Villa del Palmar Cancun Luxury Beach Resort & Spa in Mexico: Playa Mujeres and Full-Service Spa

Not everyone has the good fortune of living right on the beach, so instead of making the trek with the kids every weekend, just head for your home away from home at Villa del Palmar Cancun Luxury Beach Resort & Spa in Mexico. Cancun has never been more family-friendly than it is at this resort, removed from the Hotel Zone's rowdy parties. Fun activities and relaxing amenities are just a few reasons why families pick this elegant all inclusive resort.

A huge stretch of Playa Mujeres welcomes fearless youngsters ready for jumping waves and splashing up a storm while their parents grab cervezas and drag sun loungers right up to the water's edge. Two pools are the best way to cool down, especially with the awesome waterfall bridge. Swim up an appetite and sit down to dinner at one of the three restaurants; you can dine on yummy tenderloin at La Casona, hearty rigatoni at Davino's and fresh sushi on the terrace at Zama Restaurant. Practice your salsa steps to live music after dinner before stopping at Tiki Beach Bar for a nightcap.

Hanging out at the beach is popular at Villa del Palmar Cancun Luxury Beach Resort & Spa, and there are plenty of ways to enjoy the scenery. Have a kayak race with the kids, snorkel through the underwater kingdom or test your reflexes with windsurfing. Golfers have their pick of courses with more than 10 golf courses nearby, and relax-ationers soak up the soothing at the hotel's spa. Take a trip through the hydrotherapy circuit before letting the stress melt away on a massage table.

When it's time to call it a day, we think the suites at this resort are the perfect choice. The Two Bedroom Suite sleeps up to eight and features a fully equipped kitchen in case you want to whip up a midnight snack. The upscale perks, like a flat-screen TV with pay-per-view movies and balcony with an ocean view, make you feel right at home.
