A Truly Dissappointing Experience

This was the selection given to us thru the "Deal of Fortune" which are suppose to consist of 4Star hotels. This was far from it. Upon arrival the Check-in process was very slow, and even though it was well after 3PM we still had to wait for our room. We were told we could eat at the "Seaside Grill" while our room was being prepared. They had no more Jerk chicken (which was on the menu). After getting what was AVAILABLE we went to get soda and there were no more cups. When they finally replaced the cups the soda tasted like seltzer. The following day at breakfast we encountered the same problem. There were no cups AVAILABLE. After eating breakfast we went to get towels for the pool and there were none AVAILABLE. The Staff informed us the wait would be about an hour, I finally spoke to a Manager who agreed with my complaints but no action was ever taken. The room was also a HUGE disappointment. It looked nothing like the pictures posted on the website. We had to wait over an hour for housekeeping to bring us blankets. The ironing board was broken, It wouldn't stay up. They did eventually replace it. The first evening there was no bath mat for the floor. We had to use a towel which were very limited. THIS VACATION WAS TRULY DISAPPOINTING!

No Mon

Resort was nice enough, beach was nice, pools and bar were nice but dated and lacked maintenance, the rooms are extremely small, beds are very uncomfortable. Food options are very limited and the food overall was at most a 3, the portions (even for an all-inclusive) were very small. The bartenders and wait staff were very good and took care of us very well as best they could with limited resources.

Best Week!!

Sunscape Splash Montego Bay was a great resort to stay at. We purchased round trip transportation tickets from the site as well. So, the minute we got off the plane and thru customs we were able to very easily find our transportation. They took care of us getting us to the Resort. Arriving at the Resort was super welcoming when we arrived. Got us in line to check in and immediately had a drink in our hand. The rooms were great. Even though the rooms are maybe a little outdated, the cleanliness of the rooms is 5 star. The question is, is how long does one really stay in the hotel room. IF you're doing your vacation right the answer is to only sleep. :) Housekeeping staff is amazing. I even got a hug when we left. The pools are super nice, the bars are always busy and very fun to be apart of. Towels were never a problem for us. We changed the pool towels out 2 times a day and were never treated poorly. The food is great. We stayed away from the Buffett, only because we really don't care for buffets. The lunch at Barefoot Grille was our favorite spot for jerk chicken and fries. So yummy! In the evening the Italian, Sushi and Seafood Grill Restaurants were all great in their own way. We were never disappointed in what we ended up eating. The restaurant staff are all amazing and did a great job making sure we were taking care of. Another favorite spot is the Coco Cafe. Can't go wrong with coffee and little sweet snacks all day and all night long. You do need to be ready for a little pushiness on a pitch for time shares, which they are calling a rewards program. On our first day we were told to meet in the lobby the next morning at 8:30am. At 8:07 am we received a call reminding us of our appointment. We were not to happy with this call on our first morning. We decided we were not really interested in the meeting so we did not attend. We got another call at 8:50am wondering where we were and also wanting us to know this was her job. We mentioned that we were not interested. Another call came 9:30am letting us know we had not attended the meeting. We got stern with them and told them we were not interested and to not call us again. This ended the calling about this part of the trip.. This did not ruin our trip at all. We just went on with our vacation and had a great time. We found that the resort is run by a lot of different people. Those who get you to and from airport and any excursions. Those attempting to get you to these meetings. And finally the rest of the staff that took care of us is not apart of any of them. We had a lot fo fun with the pool guys, bartenders, housekeeping and restaurant people. Don't forget to tip these people. Although it is said that tips are not required, who doesn't like a tip for taking care of you? They work hard to make your stay great and its a great way to show you appreciate them. Great place to stay! Great place to get away from life and be stress free. Great place for the family! Great place if your just a couple! Love the Jamaican slow paced lifestyle! Took a bit to get use to, but loved it once we were apart of it. So no worries Mon' ~ just enjoy!!

Not so happy

I check in with my two children. Check in was ok, they tell you at check in to see two other counters which was for excursions and a massage offer once we checked in I sat with the lady and told her today was our fort night let us get to know the place and we do excursions later she wasn’t nasty she was very polite, my family went upstairs to get ready for the pool and as soon as we get down the lady comes to me again and tell me I must book now because excursion might not be til Friday or Saturday I said ok I will let you know tomorrow and she agreed. Now at this point I’m a little annoyed. Me and my family go out the resort and cane back when we cane back her bathing suit was missing off the chair I asked the house keeper she said she will let me know and dismissed me to continue in her phone.. I left true key went to get another key unfortunately I was told my name wasn’t in the computer I told the lady yes please check again she said she still couldn’t find my name so I asked the other lady that check me in the day before but she said somehow it registers under my daughter. My family did the 99 minutes presentation that lasted close to 4 hrs. We started at 9am I left my daughter and son because they are of age to meet my friend they kept pressuring my daughter felt very uncomfortable. This was not a good vacation and I paid good money and we stayed off the resort most of the time so we don’t feel harassed. I asked for toewel and face cloth I didn’t get it for two day but it was ok we brought when we left the resort .Even a problem asking for manager email like this was way to much .after I spoke with someone at the desk explaining my situation when I went back to my room the towels was in the door sorry we bought some at the market
