We just returned from a week of sunshine and all inclusive vacation in Dominican beach. When I read the negative reviews about this resort before leaving for Punta Cana, I was nervous. But, we had a terrific time there. One plus is the beach is walking distance and we really appreciated how they tried to preserve the beach from erosion by geo tubes. The global warming and ongoing hurricanes is inevitable and Mother Nature is so powerful. We only tried one Italian restaurant for dinner once, and we enjoyed having lunch at the grill by the pool, and breakfast and dinners at the Windows buffet. It had fresh tropical fruits, plus variety of foods to please every palate. The staff was very proficient and helpful. The resort grounds were spotless. The coco cafe had the best cappuccino and light European quality chocolate cake. So, if you are reading this please go and enjoy this wonderful resort.

This hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The minute I arrived I cried and called Cheap Caribbean to help us find flights to go home. Cheap Caribbean wasn’t even compassionate about what was going on. I called the same day I was told we were saying at this resort to see if I could change and she told me to go in with an open mind because people only leave negative reviews. So I did and everything I read was dead on. Everything everyone said was correct. Horrible horrible hotel. We even spoke to a lady who was here with her daughter celebrating her 21st birthday on the phone with Cheap Caribbean complaining about the same exact thing. She was looking to stay else where or find a flight back home. This was suppose to be special. We were celebrating our 1 year anniversary. They didn’t do anything to make us feel special. The room looks like a motel 6. The towels are dirty and stained, the bed is as hard as a rock, the service is horrible. The food is the worse I’ve ever had. They serve bagels with no cream cheese. You have to walk your own luggage to check out. We called and asked to be helped and waited 30 minutes and finally had to walk them ourselves because we didn’t want to be late for our transport to the airport. Thank God we decided to pay extra to take a tour to Isla Saona. That meant we left the resort for 12 hours. I’ve stayed in a lot of resorts in my life and this has been by far the worse hotel ever.

Was a really good deal. Everyone really friendly n nice. Def on island time. Don’t expect anything quick- not gonna happen. Housekeeping not reliable. Showed up for the merengue class n it didn’t exist. Saddest casino I’ve ever seen but clean facilities n delicious food every time!!!

Under Impressed!!

I have to say I was pretty disappointed with things that the resort had control over. The food and the employee's personalities were just terrible. There were only 3 employees that we saw smiling on a regular basis! Anthony a bus boy at the Grill / Victor the bartender at the Sun-club Beach bar and Sergio at the Sun Club Pool Bar. They were all so pleasant and happy. We tipped all 3 generously and made mention to them this was specifically why we were. They rest of the employees looked as though they were miserable - Some never smiled at all!! Almost annoyed that we were there and bothering them. The food was not good. We are by no means foodies and will eat basically all types of food, have been to other resorts so understand that the All-Inclusive is not for you if you are expecting gourmet - but this was just not good even by those standards. We were never able to get into the Italian restaurant as it was closed one night and closed at 8pm another night - The French was marginal - The Hibachi was the best but how can you mess that up - The Chicken was very grisly though - The best breakfast was the room service, fruit very fresh and a large amount of it too. We should have tries the room service for dinner also but they only had sandwiches to offer. Pizza as someone else mentioned was probably the best meal!! lol It's a shame because this resort while a little older has the potential to be really nice. We kept hearing how nice the pools were and we do agree. The palm trees were plentiful and the grounds kept well. Our room in the Sun Club was very nice and clean - huge too! The problems that were out of control of the resort were problematic but by no means any fault of there's 1 - The beach is washing away! Very sad - I'm not sure what they will do in a year but the location will have a lot of work to do and are in trouble of loosing 2 buildings to the ocean I would say. 2 - Water Pipe Break - Fortunate for us this happened 3 days before we arrived otherwise we would probably gone to another resort - This did happen for guests arriving before us - It must have been just outside the resort on the public street because it took days to fix - No water/ no showers / No toilets!!! We only had 1.5 days of intermittent water which was livable for us but OH MY the poor guests that were there for the week!! So we made it thru - Probably would not go back again to this particular place - We took a chance with the last minute Mystery Deal so we were expecting something like this - But again 1 bad day in Paradise is always better then a day back at work!
