I’m glad we’re back home

While the price we paid was good, it was a horrible ordeal, the first 2 days the pool was like a swamp! The pool was filthy, the water level was low and very murky. I’m assuming that more people complained causing them to do an overnight cleaning and up the water level to make it habitable for our last day. We went to the beach, but it was worse!! The seaweed wall approximately 1 foot high and 6 feet deep by the entire length of beach made it very unappealing to even attempt to go into. The drinks all were too sweet, the bartenders need training, the food was repetitive at all their restaurants, the rooms no one had face rags to use even after calling housekeeping several times. One couple had no a/c in their room on Thursday they told them it would get fixed by Saturday and there was no other rooms available because the resort was fully booked. I’m glad I’m home. Love DR but not this place ! Oh I did lose 2 lbs !! Probably because of all the walking we did because their choo-choo train transportation was never around when you needed it to be so make sure you have a good pair of sneakers...

Value purchase

The beach at this hotel is nice. Plenty of chairs and shade and expansive beach property. Ocean quality was ok. We were there july 2-9 and i guess it was seaweed season. They do clean the beach every morning with a big truck thats for this purpose. Hotel employees are attentive. They do need more for the restaurants. There was lag time in getting drinks due to not enough waitstaff. Theres plenty of restaurants, but the food is just ok. Our fav was french. Buffets dont have a large selction as other resorts in the area. We were in bldg 7. Close to the beqch and expansive pool. Room Was roomy enough for us. Geounds were nice, well Kept. There were 2 trolly trains and golf carts for transport. We stayed about 15mins further north at another hotel for roughly the same $ and over all It was a bit better there. There is no beach waiter service for drinks. Check in was not a long wait time. Check out same. Called about 20mins before for luggage pickup. No problems in making our reservation with this site. Everything was as expected.

Worst purchase ever

I feel this vacation was over rated in value to me. I was told I would be met at the airport and be at the resort within an hour. I was not told about getting off the plane in the middle of the airfield and bused to a building where I would be herded like cattle, probably at least 500 people crammed iin line after line to go through customs. Then I was expected to walk what felt liked a mile to get to the transportation and then find out we were taking 3 sets of people to 3 resorts. Needless to say it was at least 5 p.m. from a 1:30 landing before we reached. Our resort. The picture on my receipt showed a high rise bldg., needless to say I was shocked to find there were only many many, many bldgs. with 2 and 3 floors and no elevators. I cannot climb steps. No pool or ocean anywhere in site. It was necessary to wait for a tram to go to the beach, pool or restaurants. Most waits for said trams lasted anywhere from 20 to 25 minutes. Food was not good, hot foods were cold or luke warm and cold were not cold. Most of the staff were friendly and the grounds were beautiful. But there was huge construction going on everywhere. In fact every morning we woke up to the sound of bull dozers and dump truck outside our patio. I woul d never use Cheap Caribean again and think twice about an all inclusive. It was definitely not worth the money that I paid for this trip. Melinda Wichmann

Not sure how this hotel is 4.5 stars

I will start with the room key cards, our first day all 3 cards did not work. Our bell boy said he will come back with new ones and guess what NO ONE CAME BACK, we waited 2 hours. We went to the front desk got a new set. Out of the new set only 1 worked, so we used that 1 for our entire trip. The buffet was a mess, tables never clean, flies everywhere not enough high chairs I had 2 twins with me that always had to wait for a high chair. The restaurants were beautiful inside, but twice during dinner the lights went out for some period of time. At night not much entertainment only the shows they had at 930 even those weren’t great for such a big resort. The trains we had to take back and forth sometimes took over 10 mins to arrive and when they did they were to full that people would cut you to get on them. The employees were just as rude. Every restaurant hostess looked like they did not want to be there. The only time a waiter was sweet was at Capri she was the best service I had there and that was just once. The rest all seemed annoyed and didn’t want to be bothered. Unless you tipped them then they’re mood changed. If you have kids under 5 it’ll be very hard for you to get around this place unless you don’t mind the carrying and waiting for the trains half your vacation.
