Pura Vida

we had a great time at this resort. the resort was nice, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food(buffet and restaurant) was good from what i had to choose from(i don't eat a lot of foods) the chicken & rice n beans french toast, eggs/plantains/steamed veggies. everything looked amazing and clean. the others traveling with me didn't have any food complaints. the snack bar could offer some other food selections other than beef burger, hot dog??, and pizza with ham. the fries were good!!! rooms were a little dated but clean. bed was comfortable. we stayed in the premium area. included everything in the other area but we had a swim up bar and jacuzzi(that needs to be turned up-luke warm water). the gym is a bit small however you could still do a complete full body workout : ) . Victor with Tiquicia Tours on the pier- AMAZING!!!tours were awesome and Juan our guide was THE BEST GUIDE EVER!! very knowledgeable and fun. they made sure we were taken care of. even used them for transportation back to the airport and a lil shopping excursion. will definitely return to this resort.

Happy but not thrilled

We have used cheapcaribbean a few times now and everything on their end was great! As for the hotel we paid extra money to be in a premium room and part of the resort where we were told it would be quite and less people with a butler. It was true about less people but not quite they had constructon workers using saws, banging hammers and drilling from 9am-5pm every day!!! I know this could not have been told to us through the website but it did effect how we enjoyed or trip. Service was excellent People were friendly Tours were great Just not happy about enjoying my vacation in a construction zone :-(

Rooms issue

I came here for valentine's day with my girlfriend. On arriving at the room, I realized they have double beds in the room. I went back to complain that I booked a standard room and I want a queen or King bed. They said they couldn't do that and instead of finding me room with the one bed I requested. They gave me option of upgrading the room in which I had to pay U.S$350 ..i was able to negotiate the additional price to U.S$280. This mess my mood up for the trip because that was added expenses I didn't budget for..

The hotel was great BUT...

The hotel was great. The food was unbelievably delicious, the drinks were good, there’s a lot of activities on the resort. I booked our tours through Arena Tours at the hotel activities desk. Only bad thing I have to say is Cheap Caribbean didn’t send my reservation to the hotel so my check in and check out process was a nightmare and ruined my 3 day vacation. I got lucky that the hotel had one more room available they put a hold on my credit card until I was able to contact Cheap Caribbean in the morning to provide them with my reservation. Check out was a pain also because the hotel got confused as to why I didn’t pay for the other 2 nights. When I paid through Cheap Caribbean in the beginning of August.
