Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya

A review from a laid back person: -the room: very comfortable and you can adjust the temp. It gets cleaned twice a day and they will bring you extra lotion/shampoo etc if you run out. Room service is 24/7 and included! Also included is what is inside the mini fridge that gets restocked every day. -the beach: it’s so amazing and beautiful. You can either reserve a lounge chair at the front office or just get there early to put a towel on your chair (same with the pool). There are no soliciters which is nice and people come around asking for your drink order. The temp felt great once inside but cold at first(same with pool). -pool: there are three but I’m talking about the main pool. It’s HUGE! There were activities all day long that you can watch or be a part of. I recommend the pool biking and aqua force with Carlos. The main pool is huge and has multiple bars all along. There was a small place to eat that serves burgers and tacos right on the pool so you didn’t have to go anywhere. There are lots of blue mats to float on but not enough so I would bring your own. However it’s not necessary because there are a lot. You can get as many towels as you want from the towel hut. Restaurants: we only tried 3 out of the 7 I think. Mexican was okay but nothing impressive. The BEST restaurant was the Japanese one because there was a sushi bar that had amazing sushi and hibachi which you had to make reservations for at the front or in you’re lobby of the building you were staying in. But you could sit at the sushi bar and order off the other menu. The buffet was great and we had it every morning. There were two buffet places. It stayed open all day which was nice. There was one Mexican buffet night and one Caribbean buffet night where they had dancers for the entertainment. That was fun! Night life: there was an awesome magician and a “circus” act that was entertaining but other than that we didn’t do much night life because we don’t care for it. Plus we were too tired. Drinks: very typical resort like drinks. They didn’t have any bananas to put into the drinks which was disappointing but the mudslide was amazing so that’s what I would get. Resort: it was big like the site says but everything you need is all together so it’s not too big. There was wildlife on the grounds but they don’t bother you. Exercise: they have a gym on site that Is small bar has everything you need. they also offer bootcamp at the gym and yoga on the beach. They have other classes too like Pilates. They even have a legit 5k every Wednesday. Overall it was amazing and I highly recommend this resort to anyone! Heck out their Facebook page if you want to see the resort and other activities.

Wonderful Vacation!!!

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Valentin Imperial. Loved so many things about this resort. First off, the staff was excellent and some of the most friendly we've ever come in contact with. The restaurants and food were top notch. We especially loved the Indonesian restaurant (Tamansari) and its amazing appetizers. The desserts at the French restaurant (L'Alsace) were also very good. Just keep in mind that because of the no reservations policy, you may have to wait up to an hour for a table if you show up during peak times. This was the case at both the Italian and French restaurants. The grounds were lush and very well maintained and we didn't mind the size of the resort because everything felt so peaceful. Our only complaint was the quality of the room. We stayed in a Golden Junior Suite (building 6) and were surprised that the room wasn't in better condition. (Examples- back sliding door didn't latch properly, sink faucet handles were loose, toilet seat lid fell right off the toilet every time you opened it!, etc.) These things weren't a huge deal, but it was surprising given how extremely nice the rest of the resort was. Otherwise, fabulous vacation (this was our 4th all inclusive we've visited) and we definitely plan to visit again!

Great and disappointing at same time

A solid resort, but not the best by any means. It is a beautiful resort and grounds. We had no issues with the upkeep or landscaping and the beach is kept clean. Room: Room was well decorated and comfy, but some serious design flaws. You can basically see into and hear the toilet from anywhere in the room since it only has a glass door and is not separated from the bedroom, the smoke alarm is directly above your head in bed and flashes non stop, and there is a frosted window to the hallway that shines a bright light into the room. We could basically read in the room at night with no lights on. I was able to stuff a pillow into it to block most of the light. Food: breakfast and lunch can be disappointing. Many dishes can be cold that are under the heaters. Some of the station chefs are much better than others. Dinner at all the restaurants was excellent Service: This is where they really shined. Great staff at all stations and the Go activity staff was just as good as any we have come across.

Pretty Average Experience

The hotel is nice. Is it valued well? Maybe a little on the high side, but for the most part it is good value. DO NOT go to the asian restaurant. The food is so bad. The French is much better and lived up to expectation. The beach itself was nice and exceeded my expectations. The pool was also nice, but looks much bigger in the pics online. The room was clean, but a little worn. The jacuzzi tub in the suite took forever to fill up.... Bed was very hard/uncomfortable Service was good and everyone was friendly! :)
