A Great Deal for a Good Price!

As a previous reviewer wrote; this is a great deal for a good price! I completely agree. Of my four and my husband's six deals with Cheap Caribbean, this was our second favorite resort. Starting with the front desk agent, Josseline, who checked us in and out, the experience was very, very positive! The practical and I hope, helpful: We did not prearrange our transportation instead we took a cab from the airport, it was $18 American. It was $8 American back to the airport. There is free wifi in the lobby area only (the strongest signal was near the entrance to the hotel), for the rest of the resort you have to pay. We were in room 838 which was a mini suite looking South out to the sea, the view was stunning. The room is all style and no substance as it has no dresser or shelves or towel hooks. The only storage was a 3 foot wide closet with about 10 hangars. For those of you that over pack or need organized and neat surroundings, this would not have been the room for you. This room had 4 oz. sizes of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. It also had a shaving package, a dental package and a small sewing kit. There are plenty of shopping options within a 10 minute walk; two Soriano grocery stores, a Mega and a Super Walmart. All sell liquor, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, bathing suits etc. If you are worried about the drinks buy your own liquor, it is cheap. Bring LOTS of single bills and tip often, the staff are incredible and their hourly wage is low. They are working their butts off to make their guests happy. Please show them you care. Old Town PV is about 4 miles away. We walked it, but there is a bus that picks up at the mall next door. It was a great walk and you see a lot so I would encourage that. The beaches and streets are littered, be prepared. The food is very good! There are always fresh fruits and vegetables in abundance. We ate at five of the six dining options (not the Italian restaurant) and were very pleased with the selections. A significant issue is the ratio of pool and beach chairs to guests. The towels are not handed out until 8:30 am and by then most of the chairs are "reserved." There is a cardboard sign on most of the chairs saying that reservations or holding the chairs for over an hour is not allowed but I never saw this being enforced. With our eight day visit we were never able to get a chaise on the beach. They were all taken by at least 7:00am. While we were there my husband and I enjoyed a massage in the spa. Book one or two NOW. We had ours on the last day and wish we would have booked one at the beginning of our trip and the end. They had a special for an hour massage for two people and it was $50 American. We left a $25 tip it was so enjoyable. An hour of quiet with candles and essential oils and massage. Not to be mistaken for therapeutic massage, but very enjoyable massage. This is Mexico and they did not ask us to fill out a form or sign a liability waiver, but the massage and the experience was delightful! I also had a pedicure the last day which was also very good. I will end with how I started; a great deal for a good price. I will recommend Sunscape to my friends and family and already have recommended it to my daughters who will be visiting in the fall. We will be back!

Second time there and just as great!

We came here last year in January with 6 people and managed to get a group of 12 this year! The food was just as good, the pool atmosphere was relaxing with a dash of excitement if you want to participate in activities. Outstanding weather, I recommend booking for January, prices were a steal. Food option is plentiful and cooked fresh. Staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. Lots to walk to outside the resort including places to eat (Food Court kiddy corner is AMAZING) the sports bar is a blast, you can walk to Walmart and the mall and the marina with no effort.. The beach is clean and easy to walk on. Also, find Florentino on the beach for excursions, he beats everyone’s prices including the hotels and always delivers. Only small negative thing to say about the hotel is the rooms aren’t super quiet, depending on what side your on you either hear the waves crashing on one side or the courtyard/pool area at night. Try asking for a room in the newer building. Aside from all that, I’d highly recommend this resort. It’s clean and fun and the food and drinks are great and it’s a very good option for distance into downtown.

Second time there and just as great! Second time there and just as great!

Short get away

Have use cheap carribean multiple times and never disappoints..first the bad we arrived to find a whole in our wall which combined to a musty smell I feel had we complained they would have fixed but let's be real not in the room much The good...the service was amazing, the bartenders were spot in the food was to be expected from a buffet standpoint we upgraded to sun club so had the perk of private lounge which was great beach view not that great and access to room service. Always a plus however nice but the menu was very limited and never changed. I personally have not been a huge fan of Mexico prefer Jamaica hands down. This was our first trip to Vallarta and have to say super impressed...will be back..

What's to Love

Family-friendly check-in Hollywood style - red carpet stairs and yummy welcome treats.

Resort passports that send the kids on their own adventure.

With the Sierra Madres & Banderas Bay as the resort's backdrop, your selfies are going to break the Internet (hey, they might!)

Spa luxuries like a Chocolate Body Wrap or a blowout that will make your hair shine.

Golden sandy beaches where you can kayak, windsurf or kick back while the kids make sand castles.

The kids will love the waterslide at the pool!

The Marina Vallarta Golf Club is within walking distance to the resort. Hopefully you won't be yelling "Fore!" too much!

What We'd Change

Booking a Sun Club room would have given us a few more perks that we would've liked, especially room service at night. The kids were completely worn out from all the fun in the sun, and ordering in would have been a treat! Luckily, the restaurant let us take food to-go!

Why You Should Go

You'll have a drink in your hand in no time since it's only 10 minutes from the airport.

El Malecon is nearby with shops, restaurants/bars, art, & clowns performing tricks. (not the scary kind).

Surfs up at the Punta Mita surfing school where the whole family can take on the waves.

You can rent a boat and check out the famous Love Island at the Marietas.

Historical San Sebastian is a short drive away.

Swimming with the dolphins is a must and in the right season, the whale watching will blow your mind.
