Thoughts on sunscape

Overall the place was very nice and clean. Staff members were very polite and helpful. There are a handful of the members that only speak Spanish. The food wasn't all that great at all. Not very flavorful at all. There is always something going on for entertainment.

Less than luxury

We were at this hotel for four nights five days in the sun club section. On arrival everyone was warm and welcoming. Things went downhill from there. Service was terrible and we frequently were delayed ordering and other service because we were DR residents or spoke fluent slash. Breakfast was ok but of the sit down restaurants only the Asian was edible. On our last night (DR Father's Day where the hotel was extra crowded), one restaurant was closed, one had a wait and the hostess couldn't give a time frame, and one froze seating for 40 min despite being empty because the kitchen wasn't adequately staffed to accommodate everyone. We ended up getting pizza and calzone and two of four items ordered were prepared incorrectly. There was no drink serivice on the beach and limited by the pool even in the "VIP sections." We were there for my friends birthday and I asked them to put a sash on the door. They never did. We went to hear their vacation club shpiel and wUted over half an hour for someone to close out the talk. We explained this property didn't make us want to invest. They were rude. Alcohol was supposed to be top shelf and was instead well at best. We were provided. Oy pins for wine and spa as part of a room offset but they had a lot of restrictions and couldn't be combined. We overall had a great trip, great excursion fun but the resort wasn't quite luxury and didn't live up to our standards. When you spend that much on a vacation you expect a different level of quality and service. We would return to the DR but not to this resort.

A must experience!

Great beach resort for any individual, couple or family. So many daily fun activities. Drinks unlimited. Food of excellent quality with many all- includive restaurant options to choose from. Make sure you catch the nightly 9:30pm shows and if you're a night club lover, go straight to the disco after the 9:30pm shows. Loved that nightly routine. If you're a water sport lover, wait until you get there to purchase these because you're able to negotiate better prices on the spot. As in all beaches, non-resort personal approaching you to sell stuff was sometimes a little annoying. But can't really complain because I brought back really nice stuff I bought from them for way cheaper prizes than in the resort. I was lucky to meet a friend (a local) who accompanied me and wifey down town to their own 'walmart' where we bought even more stuff for cheap. Try this at your own risk. All in all, a wonderful week spent at this VERY CLEAN resort. If you can, try to get the sun club package. With it, you get so much more on top of what is already so much more, such as room service to your room: meals, drinks, daily news letter, private pool, a private bar for sun club members only. Big shout out to the very friendly staff, notably Ninoska from the concierge gift shop, and Ramon at the sun club family food service.

One of many romantic dinners A must experience!

Overall a good value but had some issues...

Nice resort for the price but had room for improvement. My biggest problem was that the main pool was closed the entire time we were there. Was disappointed we did not get to use the swim up bar. Luckily it was not crowded in the smaller pools. Also the timeshare presentation was brutally long and we felt pressured into doing it like the employees livelihood depended on it. Be firm and tell them NO if you value your time Lots of vendors on the beach but if you just let them know you're not interested they will move on but you can actually haggle a great deal out of them. The restaurant on the beach was great. Food was ok but can't beat the location. Beach was nice and much cleaner than the surrounding area. Never had trouble finding a chair. Wewent in the off season though so overall the resort was not crowded. Spent the extra on the Sun Club room and it was well worth it to be off to the edge where it was quieter and closer to the beach. Room was nice and very clean. Everything seemed recently renovated. AC goes off every night at 4am until 7am. It can get warm quick in there if you don't sleep with it cranked up. The Buffett pretty much serves the same stuff every day. The sit down restaurants are ok but not great. They are not all open at the same day though. Overall was a fun experience but might spend a little more on the next all inclusive trip. Really wish the rooms were beachfront/view.
